Documents required for NEET UG counselling 2026

There are two moments that need documents: the one-time upload on the MCC portal, which every allotted candidate does regardless of Freeze or Float, and physical reporting at the allotted college with originals.

The core checklist

Carry attested photocopies alongside the originals. Candidates claiming a reserved category also need the relevant certificate - SC/ST, OBC-NCL, EWS or PwBD - in the exact proforma MCC prescribes in its annexures.

Getting the upload right

For Float candidates the scan is the verification - a nodal officer never sees your originals before the next round, so the quality of the file is what your seat rests on. The anomalies MCC names as grounds for a query are blurred copies, incorrect certificates, a mismatch in the category claimed, and missing documents.

• Scan, do not photograph on an angle. Every corner of the page should be inside the frame and the text readable at 100%.
• Check the certificate is the right one, not an older or provisional version, and that it is currently valid.
• Upload within 2-3 days of the final allotment result. If a query comes back, you need the remaining days to fix and re-upload.
• Watch the portal after uploading. A DVC query you never see is a seat you lose by default.

PwBD candidates: the extra step before choices

Candidates claiming a seat under the PwBD category must first obtain an eligibility certificate from one of MCC's designated Medical Assessment Boards. This is assessed under the NMC Guidelines on Assessment of Persons with Benchmark Disabilities for Admission to the MBBS Course, 2026. Take to the board:

• Your NEET UG 2026 scorecard showing eligibility for MBBS
• Your permanent UDID card issued by DEPwD, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment
• A self-certified affidavit declaring your functional abilities in the Schedule-I format, which the board verifies during assessment
• The self-certification affidavit in Appendix-A, plus the affidavit specific to your disability category in the NMC formats at Appendix-B to F

The certificate is generated from the details on your UDID card and affidavit, and is valid for this academic session only. It matters that you do this early: PwD seat choices are shown only to candidates who already hold the certificate. If the board's findings go against you, a review can be sought. A UDID card or affidavit found to be fake means the seat is cancelled and legal action follows.
